What this policy covers
Wordlane is an English-vocabulary learning app with an English interface and optional Vietnamese translations. This policy describes the data used by the Wordlane mobile app on iOS and Android and these support pages. It does not replace the privacy terms of Apple, Google, Hugging Face, or your device’s speech provider.
Information Wordlane uses
Account information
Wordlane uses Firebase Authentication to create a guest account when you begin using the connected learning service. You may choose to link that guest account to an email address and password, or sign in with an existing email account. Firebase processes credentials and the information needed to secure an authenticated session; Wordlane does not create its own plaintext-password file.
Learning information
Wordlane stores the words you save and review, their review schedule and results, experience points and practice-day information. If you save a word from a reading passage, Wordlane may also store the selected context excerpt, up to 1,500 characters. This information is associated with your Wordlane account so that your collection can be restored when you sign in.
Device and preference information
Level, topic and subtopic choices, translation preference, accent, daily goal, onboarding state, voice choice, local session data, and unsynchronized learning changes are stored on the device. An unsaved reading passage and library search are used in the app and are not uploaded as reading-history or search-history records.
Support and deletion-request information
If you email Wordlane support or ask for deletion help, we receive the email address you use to contact us and the information you choose to include. That can include an account email address, app version, a description of the issue or request, and screenshot attachments. Please do not send a password or unrelated sensitive information. These messages are sent through your email service; Wordlane does not collect them through an in-app form or copy them into Cloud Firestore.
Pronunciation choices
Wordlane does not record your microphone or ask you to provide a voice recording. If you choose the optional Kokoro voice pack, the app downloads model and voice files of about 93.4 MB from Hugging Face and its download infrastructure. That download does not include your email address, Wordlane account identifier, or the text you ask the app to speak. After download, Kokoro produces pronunciation audio on your device.
If you choose Device voice, the app gives the requested text to your operating system’s speech service. The operating system and selected speech provider control the availability, connection use, and handling of that service.
Why we use this information
We use account and learning information to keep your vocabulary collection, schedule reviews, calculate learning progress, and let you return to your collection after signing in. We use preferences to present the learning experience you chose and local device data to support offline use and later synchronization.
Where information is processed
SENTRYSIGHT TECHNOLOGIES COMPANY LIMITED is the Wordlane operator. Wordlane uses Google Firebase Authentication for account access and Cloud Firestore for synchronized learning data. Firebase processes that data to provide the connected learning service. Firebase services may process information in countries other than the country where you live. You can read Google’s Firebase privacy information for its service practices.
The operator handles support and deletion-request messages to answer, troubleshoot, and verify requests. The email providers used to deliver and host those messages process the message and any attachment for their email service. Sending a support email does not give those providers access to your Wordlane learning collection.
Hugging Face provides the optional Kokoro download. Your operating system or speech provider may process the text supplied to Device voice. These providers receive only the information needed for their services as described above.
Advertising and tracking
Wordlane does not include advertising, an analytics SDK, Crashlytics, or cross-app tracking in this release. We do not use your Wordlane learning collection to target advertising.
Retention and account deletion
We keep synchronized account and learning information while your account is active so that Wordlane can provide your collection and scheduled reviews. You can initiate deletion from the current Wordlane app at Account → Delete account. The app asks you to confirm the request, and an email-account user may be asked to sign in again before deletion can finish.
The deletion flow removes the Wordlane account’s Cloud Firestore learning documents and asks Firebase Authentication to remove the sign-in identity. During deletion, or while an incomplete deletion is waiting for a retry, Wordlane keeps a deletion-control record with the account identifier, operation status, and timestamps. It stays in place until deletion finishes so an old credential or offline change cannot revive data. After confirmed deletion, the terminal record expires after 24 hours. Cloud Firestore’s TTL process removes that completed record on its own schedule after expiry, so removal is not instantaneous.
Support and deletion-request emails, including any attachments, are kept only to handle the request. The operator deletes them from the Wordlane support mailbox within 30 days after the final response. If we do not hear back from you, we close the request after 30 days and delete the message and attachments within the following 30 days. Email providers may keep residual copies under their own retention or backup processes.
Local copies can remain in device storage or device backups until that storage or backup is removed; optional Kokoro downloads are separate local files and can be removed in the app’s pronunciation settings. Firebase may retain limited technical records or backup copies under its own service processes for a period after deletion. We do not use those copies to restore your deleted Wordlane account. Your choices and requests
You can change learning level, topic, translation, daily goal, accent, and voice preferences in Wordlane. You may use the service with a guest account or link an email account for sign-in. For help with access, correction, or a privacy question, email vuongkhoa77@gmail.com. We may need to verify that a request is associated with the account before disclosing or changing account information.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page and update the effective date before a material change to these practices takes effect.
